Benefits and Financial Aids

  • Sanctuary Scholarship (UGCE1411):
    • Full tuition fee coverage for the minimum duration of the program
    • Annual stipend of AUD 5,000 (or AUD 10,000 if on-campus accommodation is not availed)
    • Up to AUD 25,000 annually for on-campus accommodation if required
  • Welcome Scholarship (UGCE1412):
    • Annual stipend of AUD 10,000 paid fortnightly throughout the calendar year

Eligibility Criteria

  • Sanctuary Scholarship:
    • Commencing an eligible UNSW coursework degree in Term 1, 2025
    • Must have received an offer for Term 1, 2025, by November 30, 2024
    • Must hold one of the following visas: Temporary Protection Visa (Subclass 785), Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (Subclass 790), Bridging Visa (with refugee documentation), Temporary Humanitarian Concern Visa (Subclass 786), or Humanitarian Stay (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 449)
  • Welcome Scholarship:
    • Commencing an eligible UNSW coursework degree in 2025
    • Must hold an offer of admission for Term 1, 2025, by November 30, 2024
    • Must hold one of the following visas: Global Special Humanitarian Visa (Subclass 202), Protection Visa (Subclass 866), Refugee Visa (Subclass 200, 201, 203, or 204)

  • Current passport, ImmiCard, or equivalent travel document, Titre de Voyage, PLO56 (M56) or Document For Travel To Australia (DFTTA)
  • Documentation proving visa status (e.g., Bridging Visa holders must provide a letter confirming refugee or asylum seeker status)
  • Proof of study rights (for Bridging Visa holders)
