Organization Description

Transilvania University of Brașov (UNITBV) is the largest university in central Romania, located in the city of Brașov. It hosts over 20,880 students and 700+ academic staff across 18 faculties. The university offers a wide range of programs in fields such as engineering, IT, economics, medicine, law, arts, and social sciences, including 98 undergraduate, 66 master’s, and 22 doctoral programs.

UNITBV is part of the European University Alliance UNITA and launched a €14 million EU-funded project in November 2023 to promote academic mobility, international collaboration, and infrastructure development. This project strengthens the university’s presence in the European educational space.

Founded in 1948, UNITBV evolved through multiple institutional mergers and expansions. It was officially named Transilvania University of Brașov in 1991. Since then, it has continuously modernized its structure, adding new faculties, research centers, and programs to meet contemporary academic and professional demands.
