Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, founded in 1868, is a public research university and business school located in Venice, Italy. Housed in the historic Ca’ Foscari Palace along the Grand Canal, it is Venice’s largest university with campuses in Mestre and Treviso. Originally established as the Regia Scuola Superiore di Commercio (Royal College of Commerce), it is the second oldest business school in the world.
The university became a full-fledged institution in 1968 and now has eight departments and nearly 21,000 students. Its teaching and research focus on economics, business, humanities, and modern languages. Over the years, Ca’ Foscari has expanded to include various research centers such as the Center for Cultural Heritage and Technology, the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change, and the Institute for Global Challenges.
