Organization Description

The University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney) is a public research university in Sydney, Australia, and a founding member of the Group of Eight, a coalition of Australia’s leading research-intensive universities. Ranked 19th globally and 3rd in Australia in the 2024 QS World University Rankings, UNSW is renowned for its strengths in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. Established in 1949, it is also a member of Universitas 21, a global network of research universities with partnerships across more than 200 institutions worldwide.

UNSW offers a wide range of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs through its seven faculties. Its main campus is in Kensington, 7 kilometers from Sydney’s central business district, with additional campuses in Paddington, Randwick, and Coogee. The university’s second-largest campus, UNSW Canberra, is situated in the Australian Capital Territory. It focuses on military education and research through its affiliation with the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA).
