Opportunity Description
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization/UNESCO Internship Program offers opportunities for individuals to gain valuable experience in Priority Africa and External Relations. This internship, stationed at various UNESCO locations, provides exposure to international policy-making processes and fosters skills development in communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management.
The Priority Africa and External Relations sector coordinates and advises the Director General on cooperation with Member States, the UN system, and other organizations. Interns support this mission by:
- Drafting proposals for member States and partners
- Researching and analyzing information for meetings
- Assisting in the coordination of Statutory meetings and report drafting
- Providing timely information to maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Supporting event organization and technical tasks
- Updating the PAX Website
- Undertaking additional assigned tasks.

- Leave Entitlement: Interns are entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month during the internship period.
Eligibility Criteria
Interns must meet the following criteria:
- Age: The minimum age requirement is 20 years old.
- Academic Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in or have recently graduated from a graduate program (Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent).
- Language Proficiency: Excellent command of either English or French; working knowledge of the other language is an asset.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer systems and office-related software.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively and adapt to an international environment.
