Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants should have completed at least 12 units of standard graded courses at SFU
  • Have received enrollment in a minimum of 12 units of standard courses at SFU in the term of application
  • Provide at least a CGPA of 3.50
  • Challenge, audit, and credit-free courses are not eligible
  • The co-op term (3 units) does not satisfy the enrollment requirement
  • Students with disabilities are eligible with a minimum of 6 units and a letter from SFU’s Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL)
  • SFU entrance award recipients can apply for other scholarships
  • SFU entrance scholarship recipients must wait until the entrance scholarship is fully paid out before applying for other scholarships
  • Some financial aid is specifically for Indigenous students (First Nations, Métis, Inuit)

  • Review the Scholarships List and determine which scholarships to apply for from the Summer 2024 List.
  • Apply Online:
    • Log in to the Student Information System (go.sfu.ca)
    • Navigate to “Student Center”
    • Go to the Financial Aid and Awards under the Finances section
    • Click on Apply for Scholarships or Awards tab
    • List desired scholarships/awards in your online application
  • Submit Supporting Documents by mail to [email protected] by the application deadline.
  • Ensure you have direct deposit through the Student Accounts Office to receive refunds.
