Opportunity Description
The Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) Knowledge into Use Awards 2022 are now accepting applications. The “knowledge into use” awards are being introduced by GRP in conjunction with the Climate Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) and the International Center for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) through The Resilience Knowledge Coalition in the run-up to the Resilience Hub at COP27.
The Knowledge into Use awards recognizes inventive and artistic approaches to promoting the use of resilience knowledge. Games, animation, the arts, theater, regional and indigenous knowledge displays, and audio-visual material are only a few examples (movies, songs, etc.). These original and imaginative concepts must be supported by credible data disseminated through research papers or reports.
The Award’s Details
Urban, rural, and coastal resilience are the broad contest topics. It is highly recommended that science be integrated with aspects of justice, equity, and indigenous and local knowledge articulated creatively using the available data on these three themes. The most intriguing ideas will get cash rewards, hoping the money will help the person, group, or grassroots organization implement or creatively express the proposal in time for an exhibition in six to eight months.
The concept note or idea should include a 200-word summary of the problems being resolved and the research done on boosting resilience. Mangroves, for instance, might serve as a robust natural infrastructure to control storm surges and sustain local economies. This knowledge may be a candidate for the cash prize if it is presented in a humorous comic strip.
