The Senior Health Program Coordinator will oversee the project’s execution, coordination, and achievement of its objectives. They will advocate for and validate the quality of services given by WFHSs in each province. They will coordinate project operations with appropriate government officials, local communities, and other health and safety services stakeholders. The following three key areas of responsibility are covered: program management and technical leadership, capacity development, and monitoring and reporting.

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Psychosocial Implementation, Clinical Social Work, Mental Health, Public Health, or a related field is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of worldwide MHPSS programming/best practices and IASC norms.
  • Gender-based violence expertise, with a minimum of 4-6 years of progressive humanitarian experience, at least two of which should be field-based or in an emergency situation.
  • Professional expertise in development program/project planning, design, and management or related disciplines.
  • Experience coordinating and liaising with local stakeholders such as partners, organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and communities.
  • Organizational abilities must be shown, including the ability to operate independently and efficiently with numerous stakeholders in a fast-paced workplace.
  • Experience handling case management/multi-sectoral services and referrals is preferred.
  • Understanding of multi-sectoral assistance and a survivor-centered approach.
  • Demonstrated relevant expertise establishing data management training curriculums, modules, and materials, as well as MHPSS case management, including Psychosocial (PSS) interventions and Psychosocial First Aid/ MHPSS multi-sectoral services/ PSS prevention and response.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, data security, and other ethical problems associated to the exchange of sensitive data across humanitarian organizations.
  • Experience supervising MHPSS case workers / PSS Counselors is a plus.
  • Expertise of integrated MHPSS and health/reproductive health care is a plus.
  • Capability to examine data/statistics for humanitarian missions.
  • High-quality report writing requires fluency in English and local languages (Dari or Pashto).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills: the capacity to efficiently and effectively communicate with individuals in a variety of roles in a multicultural setting.
  • Strong computer abilities, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and database applications, as well as extensive understanding of pivot table/chart analysis.
  • You should be able to facilitate groups.
  • Workplace adaptability and flexibility to modify work methods and hours
  • Capability to work under duress.
  • Maintain confidentiality while being culturally sensitive.
