    • Submissions after 17:00 are considered for the 4th batch.
  • Fourth Batch: March 1, 2025 – April 15, 2025, by 17:00 (GMT+8)
    • Submissions after April 15, 2025, 17:00 (GMT+8) are considered a withdrawal.

Benefits of the NPU President Scholarship

There are three levels to the NPU President Scholarship as follows:

  • First-level: Awardees get housing, living allowances, and tuition fee exemption.
    • Living allowances:
  1. Monthly tuition for bachelor’s students is 1,500 RMB (for 12 Months).
  2. Monthly tuition for master’s students is 2,000 RMB (for 12 Months).
  3. The monthly salary for PhD students is 3500 RMB.
  • Second level: Recipients of the second level are exempted from tuition fees.
  • Third level: Recipients of the third level are exempt from paying 50% of tuition.

Eligibility Criteria

Following is a set of criteria for the 2024 NPU President Scholarship:

  • Applicants must have good physical and mental health (no infectious or study-affecting diseases).
  • Undergraduate applicants must hold a high school diploma and be under 25 by September 1st, 2025.
  • Master’s applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 30 by September 1st, 2025.
  • PhD applicants must hold a Master’s degree and be under 35 by September 1st, 2025.
  • Applicants should have good academic performance with an average of 75% or above score.
  • Global standard tests like SAT, ACT, A-Level, GRE, etc., are accepted by NPU.
  • Applicants must have language proficiency in Chinese/English according to the application criteria.
  • Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports.
  • Applicants who were previously Chinese citizens must have current foreign nationality, four years of passport/citizenship, and two years of residence proof.
  • Applicants with Chinese parents must provide proof of foreign nationality or documents for cancellation of Chinese nationality.

Language Requirement:

For Bachelor’s degree:

  • Chinese: HSK Level 5 (score 180 or above)
  • English:
    • IELTS: Overall score of 6.0 or above (no less than 5.5 in each component)
    • TOEFL: Score of 80 or above (iBT home edition, Essentials, DI code C317 accepted)
    • Duolingo English Test: Score of 115 or above
    • Cambridge International Advanced Level English: Grade A
    • Cambridge Main Suite Exams:
      • FCE: ≥169
      • CAE: ≥180
      • CPE: ≥180

For Master’s Degree:

  • Chinese: HSK Level 5 (score 180 or above)
  • English:
    • IELTS: Overall score of 6.0 or above (no less than 5.5 in each component)
    • TOEFL: Score of 80 or above (iBT home edition, Essentials, DI code C317 accepted)
    • Duolingo English Test: Score of 115 or above
    • Cambridge International Advanced Level English: Grade A
    • Cambridge Main Suite Exams:
      • FCE: ≥169
      • CAE: ≥180
      • CPE: ≥180

For PhD Candidates:

  • Chinese: HSK Level 5 (score of 200 or above)
  • English:
    • IELTS Academic: Overall 6.5 or above (minimum 5.5 in each section)

    • Duolingo English Test: 120 or above
    • PTE Academic: 60 or above

Applicants of the NPU President Scholarship should prepare the following documents:

For Bachelor’s Degree:

  • Valid passport: Provide a copy of the personal information page. Applicants in mainland China must also provide a scanned copy of their current visa or residence permit page.
  • High school diploma and transcripts: Original or notarized copy of the diploma and all transcripts.
  • Personal statement and CV
  • Language certificate: For Chinese or English proficiency (not required for native speakers applying for corresponding language programs).
  • Non-criminal record: Valid for five months.
  • Certified awards and achievements: Include any relevant scientific research or awards (if applicable).
  • Physical examination form: Copy the “Physical Examination Form for Foreigners” (valid for six months).
  • Guardian Guarantee Letter: For minor applicants under 18 (template provided).
  • Bank statements: Personal or parents’ bank statements for the last six months.
  • Other supplementary materials: As required by the application guidelines.

Notes:

  • Translations: All materials must be in English or Chinese. Notarized translations are required for materials in other languages.

For Master’s and PhD:

  • A copy of the personal information page of your valid passport (valid until October 30, 2025).
    • Applicants in mainland China must also provide a scanned copy of the current visa or residence permit page.
    • If you do not have a passport, you may submit a national ID temporarily, but the passport is mandatory for final submission.
  • A copy of undergraduate diploma.
    • Provide both degree and graduation certificates if you graduated in China.
    • Graduating students may submit a pre-graduation certificate.
  • Transcripts for each semester/academic year during your undergraduate studies.
  • Two recommendation letters from professors (associate professor or above).
  • Study plan for Master’s degree program (based on the provided template).
  • Chinese (HSK) or English language proficiency certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo, or PTE).
    • Exceptions: Chinese native speakers applying for Chinese-medium majors; English native speakers applying for English-medium majors.
  • Non-criminal record (valid for six months).
  • Acceptance letter from a supervisor (if applying for specific schools like Aeronautics, Materials Science, Engineering, etc.).
    • For other programs, the letter is optional but will be a bonus.
  • Officially recognized awards or scientific research achievements (if applicable).
  • A copy of the “Physical Examination Form for Foreigners” (valid for six months).
  • Bank statement.
  • Other supplementary materials (as required).
  • Art/design portfolio (required for architecture or design majors).

Additional Notes:

  • All materials must be in English or Chinese; notarized translations are required for documents in other languages.
  • Specific schools may have additional requirements (e.g., GPA, HSK levels).
  • Interviews for certain schools will be arranged after the 4th batch deadline.
  • All submitted academic documents will be verified for legitimacy.
Documents required for PhD:
