The Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship (NPGS) is a prestigious and competitive scholarship encouraging outstanding graduates or final-year students to pursue a full-time PhD at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as their first step toward a successful research career.

There are no restrictions on candidates’ nationality. Applicants from worldwide can apply for this Scholarship, but priority goes to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.

Benefits of the Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship

NPGS comes with no conditions attached. The grant is initially valid for one year, which is extendable subject to satisfactory progress for the next years.

For PhD applicants, the maximum period of the Scholarship is four years, as defined by the school and the availability of research funding for each case. The benefits of the NPGS are as follows:

• ​Monthly stipend of S$3,500 for international students effected from August 2023
• Conference payment of up to S$4,000 per financial year (April previous year to March current year) ​
• ​Book allowance of S$500 annually
• One-time ​IT allowance of S$1,500​ ​ ​
• One-time thesis allowance of S$600 disbursed during the final year scholarship renewal. ​ ​

Eligibilities of Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship

• Applicants from worldwide can submit their application for Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship
• Priority goes to applicants who hold Singaporean citizenship or Permanent Residents (PR)
• Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree with Honours (Highest Distinction) or its equivalent to be eligible.
• If the applicant has not yet completed their undergraduate degree program, they should provide documentation from their university indicating that they will soon receive an Honours (Highest Distinction) degree or equivalent.
