Benefits and Financial Aids
The following are the program benefits:
- Grants of up to USD 5,000
- Funding for events, workshops, training, webinars, research initiatives, and pilot projects

- Encouragement to recruit experts from within the chapter member communities
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be an Internet Society Chapter in good standing
- Have an official bank account in the chapter’s name
- Not undergoing a rejuvenation process
- Submitted all required reports for previous Foundation-funded projects
- Can manage up to three active Beyond the Net grants simultaneously
Beyond the Net Small grants are available to Internet Society Chapters that:
- Are in good standing or pre-rejuvenation.
- Have an official bank account in their name.
- Are not undergoing rejuvenation.
- Have submitted all required reports for past Foundation-funded projects.
- Can manage up to three active Beyond the Net grants (two Small and one Large) at a time.
Project Design Parameters:
- Submit applications 8-10 weeks before the proposed project start date.
- Proposals must have a clear focus and cohesive objectives.
- Projects must be completed within 1-9 months.
- Funds may be used to compensate chapter members or external contractors, with personnel expenses not exceeding 20% of the total grant amount.
- Include names and qualifications of paid staff in applications and budgets.
- Show current currency exchange rates in budgets.

- 3-Tab Budget Report Template for all grant reports
Selection Criteria
Following are the application selection criteria and details:
- Applications reviewed based on alignment with Beyond the Net program objectives
- Projects evaluated on clarity, realism, and demonstrated need
- Consideration of the chapter’s ability to develop or strengthen local relationships and partnerships
- Assessment of clear objectives and relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and evaluated quarterly

Submit applications online via Fluxx, the Foundation’s Grants Management System, at Fluxx. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed quarterly.
