The Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) offers fully funded scholarships for Master’s Program students at Nagoya University, Graduate School of International Development (GSID). Starting in April 2025, the program aims to support students from ADB borrowing member countries in pursuing higher education and professional development.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be a nationals of an ADB borrowing member country.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a qualified university.
  • At least two years of full-time professional working experience
  • Born on or after June 1, 1989.
  • Meet the minimum English proficiency scores:
    • TOEFL: 550 (PBT), 79 (iBT), 8.5 (Essentials)
    • IELTS: 6.0 (Academic)
    • Duolingo: 110
  • They must not be living or working outside their home country.
  • Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, ADB staff, and their close relatives are ineligible.
  • Should not be enrolled in a graduate degree program; exceptions apply.
  • Should not have previously studied abroad.
  • Family income should not exceed $50,000/year; individual income should not exceed $25,000/year.
