The University of Miami Stamps Scholarship 2024–25 is now accepting applications from international students. Applicants from any nation willing to pursue their bachelor’s studies in the United States can apply now. The University of Miami’s Stamps Scholarship is for Bachelor’s degree applicants, and it is a fully funded scholarship strongly recommended for students with academic excellence. The scholarship has a 4-year term.

The USA grant covers complete tuition fees, housing on campus, a meal allowance, health insurance, a laptop allowance, textbooks, and $12,000 as an enrichment fund. All costs will be paid for in almost every UM institution’s academic field and major.

Eligibilities for Stamps Scholarship

Applicants must meet the following requirements to apply for the Stamps Scholarship:

  • Applications are accepted from applicants of any nationality anywhere in the world.
  • The applicant must seize an international student condition.
  • You must get a bachelor’s degree program offer from the University of Miami.
  • Early Decision and Early Action applicants who fulfill the First-Year Admission Requirements outlined below will receive the Stamps Scholarship automatically when they apply for early admission to UM.

First-Year Admission Requirements

Complete the Common Application

  • Submit the Common Application and pay a $70 nonrefundable fee.
  • Use the same email address throughout the application process.
  • Submit a 250-word supplemental essay if applying for Spring or Fall 2024.
  • Include a personal statement (650 words max) and a list of extracurricular activities.

Send Official High School Transcripts

  • Submit transcripts directly from your high school via Common Application, Slate.org, SCOIR, or Parchment.
  • For U.S. high schools, transcripts can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to the University of Miami’s Office of Undergraduate Admission.
  • Refer to specific guidelines for international or homeschooled applicants.

Submit Test Scores

  • Test-optional for Spring and Fall 2024 applicants.
  • Submit ACT/SAT scores via the testing agency or self-report on the Common Application.
  • Submit TOEFL (80), IELTS (6.5), or Duolingo English Test (125) scores if English is not your native language.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

All applicants must review these bullet points as English Language Proficiency Requirements while applying for the Stamps Scholarship:

  1. Eligible Test types and UM codes
  • Submit official TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo English Test (DET) scores.
  • Acceptable TOEFL versions include ibT Home Edition (TOEFL Essentials not accepted).
  • Official test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency.
  • To send your language proficiency test scores for UM, please follow these UM codes:
    • TOEFL Code: C730
    • IELTS Code: 4861
    • DET: Select “University of Miami Undergraduate Admissions” from the options
  • Results from November tests (for Early Decision I and Early Action) or January tests (for Early Decision II and Regular Decision) may not arrive in time. Therefore, please include UM’s CEEB code on all test registrations.
2. Conditional Admission for English Proficiency
  • Academically qualified applicants not meeting the English proficiency requirement may be offered admission for the following year after completing level five of UM’s Intensive English Program within one year. Submit official TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo results during the application process to be considered.
3. Waiving English Language Proficiency Requirements
  • The English proficiency requirement may be waived if you meet one of the following conditions:

Language Requirements for the First-Year Applicants

All international first-year students must also meet these language requirements:

  • Final grade of A or B in AP or HL IB English.
  • Attended at least three years (including graduation year) at a U.S. high school.
  • Completed Level 5 of UM’s Intensive English Program.
  • IB English A1 SL/HL examination with a predicted score of 4 or higher.
  • IB English B HL examination with a predicted score of 5 or higher.
  • Grade of C or better on IGCSE/GCE “O” or “A” Level in English as a first language.
  • I attended a high school outside the U.S. for at least three years, where the medium of instruction was English.
  • A score of 650 or higher on SAT evidence-based reading and writing (from 2016) or 27 or higher on the ACT English section.
  • Earned 30+ post-secondary credits, including 6 in English Composition with a B or higher, at a regionally accredited U.S. college/university.

Applicants can find and submit the English Proficiency Waiver Request Form in their Applicant Portal under “Admission Request Forms.” Students not meeting the waiver criteria must submit official TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo test scores.

Documents Requirement

International Evaluation Requirement

International applicants should follow these steps for their application documents evaluation:

1. Submit Official Documents to a Credential Evaluator
  • If you attended a secondary school or university outside the U.S., you must complete an international credential evaluation.
  • Processing takes 2-4 weeks; ensure documents are received by UM by the application deadline.
2. International Credential Evaluations Must Include:
  • Course-by-course evaluation
  • GPA calculation
  • A high school official or testing center must submit your official documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, examination results, etc.) directly to the evaluation provider.
3. Approved Credential Evaluation Services:
  • Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE)
  • International Education Evaluations (IEE)
  • Josef Silny & Associates, Inc.
  • SpanTran (request UM as the institution of receipt on SpanTran’s “Contact Information” page)
  • World Education Services (WES) (only for transfer applicants evaluating post-secondary transcripts)
  • Another approved NACES member
4. Criteria for Waiving the Evaluation:

First-Year Applicants:

  • Attended at least three years (including graduation year) at an accredited U.S. high school abroad.
  • Attended only grade 9 at a foreign school, graduating with a U.S. diploma after grades 10-12 in a U.S. high school.
  • Graduating from an International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum abroad.
  • Graduating with a Cambridge AICE Diploma.
  • Pursuing 3-4 Cambridge/AQA/Pearson/Edexcel A-level courses with IGCSE results.
  • Attended at least three years at a high school in the United Kingdom, Turkey, or Canada (except Quebec).
  • They have earned a CAPE Certificate in the Caribbean (CXC) (except for the Dutch, French, and Dominican systems).
  • Following the Indian Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC).
  • They have received official results for exams like WASSCE, NECO, Cameroon GCE A Level, KCSE, and Rwanda ACE (I must submit a scratch card and PIN information).

Transfer Applicants:

  • Transferring from an American university abroad or a university in Canada (except Quebec).
5. Request to Waive the Evaluation:
  • Submit the International Evaluation Waiver Request Form in your Applicant Portal.
  • Provide official transcripts and examination results (if applicable) directly from your high school or testing center.
  • Documents can be submitted electronically via the Common Application, Slate.org, SCOIR, Parchment, or emailed to [email protected].
