About Integrated Water Resource Management Consultant Vacancy:

Creating an integrated water resource management national plan for climate-resilient water systems and services in Afghanistan is the goal of the Integrated Water Resource Management Consultant.

  • Analysis of stakeholders.
  • Log frame based on the discussions at the national workshop and the extension and improvement of the log frame that has been created thus far, consisting of VISION/OUTCOME/OUTPUT/KEY interventions (a log frame with both horizontal and vertical logic).
  • The National Roadmap document’s framework (chapters and subchapters) applies to both the i) main roadmap document and the ii) roadmap document summary.
  • A draft national roadmap document that includes an action plan, budget, and annexes.
  • After Task 4 is finished, the document is revised (semifinal version).
  • Final draft of the national roadmap paper, which includes an action plan, budget, and any relevant appendices.

Eligibilities:

  • A master’s degree or above from an advanced university in hydrogeology, hydrology, or a related technical discipline
  • It is necessary to have at least ten years of relevant professional experience in the field.
  • Experience managing, evaluating, and presenting hydrological and hydrogeological data using GIS, as well as comparable writing and facilitating experience in creating planning, strategy, and policy documents at the national level.
  • Skills for Facilitation.
  • Outstanding ability to provide information to a wide range of stakeholders both orally and in writing.
  • The capacity to function well in a transdisciplinary team and as a team member in general.
  • Proficiency in the language.

About Child Protection Specialist Vacancy:

In accordance with UNICEF’s child protection strategy framework (2021–2030) and the Gender Action Plan (2022–2025), the Specialist offers authoritative technical guidance and operational support throughout all stages of programming to facilitate the management and delivery of results contributing to the prevention of violence against women and children through gender transformative programming. He or she aids in the creation, execution, and oversight of superior VAC/GBV programming for all industries.

Responsibilities:

The specific roles and obligations include, but are not limited to:

  • Support to Program development and planning (in the emergency contexts)
  • Management and/or advisory support to child protection programme, other sectors and partners including through the CP AOR and GBV Sub Cluster
  • Program management, monitoring and delivery of results (including emergency contexts)
  • Programme Implementation
  • Advocacy, networking, and partnership building
  • Advisory services and technical support
  • Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must have the following:

  • An advanced degree from an institution of higher learning (master’s level or above) in a field related to UNICEF’s sectoral work (e.g., health, nutrition, WASH, education, child protection, social inclusion, HIV/AIDS, etc.) or in the social sciences (e.g., sociology, demography, psychology, political science, social policy, economics, or human rights).
  • Academic qualifications in gender studies, women’s rights, or child rights are quite beneficial.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience, as well as a track record of initiating and overseeing significant programming and research on gender-based violence (GBV) and violence against children (VAC), as well as development in important areas that are the focus of UNICEF’s Gender Action Plan and Global Child Protection Strategy.
  • An asset would be experience in emergency response as well as experience in designing, executing, managing, and delivering results-based programs on gender and development or any other cross-cutting program, especially at the national or field level.
  • Work experience in developing nations and/or emergency preparedness knowledge are viewed as advantages.
  • English proficiency is needed. It is advantageous to know a local language or one of the other official UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
