The Esperanza Pertusa Foundation International Photography Award 2024 application period is currently open. The 4th edition of the International Photography Award aims to recognize and share the work of professionals and amateurs alike who inspire positive social change by addressing the poverty and social exclusion that millions of people around the world experience in their projects.

Objectives:

Eligibilities

  • Authors who have reached the age of majority at the time of submitting their nomination and are citizens of any country are eligible to enter the Esperanza Pertusa International Photography Prize. These submissions have to be original, unpublished pieces that address social exclusion and poverty that haven’t won in any other competitions and don’t have any unrestricted editing rights.

Documents Requirement

  • Each participant is allowed to present a single piece of work that consists of a photo project that includes the project title, three digital images, and a detailed description of the project.
  • The three digital images will all be taken using a different approach, either in color or black and white, and they will all be related to the same picture project.
  • The synopsis will be between 200 and 400 words long and must include the inspiration for the work, where it came from, and any other details considered pertinent.

Application Procedure

The needed materials for entries should be submitted to the following email address with the subject “Concurso de Fotografa Esperanza Pertusa” in it.

The following information will be in the email’s body:

  • The title of the photography project.
  • The photographer’s given name and surname.
  • Number from a National Identity Card (DNI) or a similar.
  • Phone number to call Attached are three images that will be submitted as separate JPEG files with a minimum resolution of 300 ppi. The photo cannot be sent in zipped format and must be between 3 and 8 M in size.
  • The project overview, no more than 400 words. PDF files must be supplied.

Reproduction Rights and Obligations:

  • The creators of the works entered in the competition must be the owners of the copyright to those pieces. The Esperanza Pertusa Foundation shall not be held liable for any claims resulting from plagiarism or any other legal violations that may affect the works, including violations of the right to privacy and the data protection act.
  • The writers warrant that they have received the necessary consent from the people pictured in the entries to participate in the Esperanza Pertusa International Photography Prize.
  • By entering the competition, writers agree that their photos may be displayed publicly on the Esperanza Pertusa Foundation website, with credit given to them whenever possible across all media.
  • Works that win awards become the intellectual property of the Esperanza Pertusa Foundation, which is free to copy, display, and communicate with them as long as crediting the original author and the year of the honor is always included.
  • It is possible for the Esperanza Pertusa Foundation to host an exhibition with a mix of awarded and unawarded pieces. Participants will receive information about this exhibition, including its location, dates, and terms and conditions for each author who chooses to sell their work. It is possible to modify and incorporate the exhibition catalog into the activity report of the foundation. A catalog of the exhibition may be published by Fundación Esperanza Pertusa and included in its report on operations.
