Opportunity Description

The Ian Parry Scholarship in Photojournalism supports young and aspiring photographers who wish to pursue careers in photojournalism. They provide funding, coaching, and continuous support to help them promote their work. Crucially, the grantee joins an extended family of individuals who value photography and are passionate about the project. This network of previous grantees has also formed.

The grant was established more than thirty years ago as a memorial to photojournalist Ian Parry, who, at the age of twenty-four, died in 1989 while covering the Romanian revolution for The Sunday Times. Every year, they host a free, worldwide open call and award the Ian Parry Photojournalism Grant, which aims to highlight up-and-coming photojournalistic talent.
