The Ellison Scholars program, hosted by the Ellison Institute for Technology (EIT) in collaboration with the University of Oxford, calls for applications. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet these requirements:

  • Applicants should be passionate about solving global problems
  • Commit to both academic studies and project work with EIT
  • Collaborate with other Scholars and EIT Faculty of Fellows on significant projects.
  • Engage in designing and developing innovative solutions like software, sensors, molecules, and new materials.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team including other Scholars, EIT scientists, engineers, and university faculty.
  • Projects led by EIT Faculty Fellows promoting cross-disciplinary innovation
  • Meet the University’s English language requirements for the chosen undergraduate or graduate degree.
  • Possess or be on track to obtain a secondary education/high school qualification accepted by the University of Oxford.
  • Meet the entry requirements for the desired undergraduate or graduate degree, including minimum grade requirements.

Selection Process

Following are the highlighted selection process and dates:

  • Applications open in May 2024 and close on 1 August 2024
  • Semi-finalists selection will occur by September – October 2024
  • Semi-finalists apply to the University of Oxford by 15 October 2024
  • Finalists receiving offers from Oxford will be selected by January 2025
  • Final selection by the EIT Faculty of Fellows occurs in February – March 2025
  • The selected Ellison Scholars announcement will be in April 2025
  • Scholars begin studies at Oxford in October 2025

How to Apply?

  • There are two different application processes for Undergraduate and Graduate Ellison Scholars.
  • Graduate applications will open on August 2024; you may check later for details.
  • For undergraduate programs, you may apply through the link below
  • If selected as a semi-finalist, apply to the University of Oxford by 15 October 2024.
  • Finalists will undergo interviews and final selection by the EIT Faculty of Fellows.
