About Consultant for Teacher Training and Support Vacancy:

The goal of the de facto Ministry of Education is to create an integrated national program for in-service teacher support and training that will be implemented across the entire nation. UNICEF has been granted funding to assist in the implementation of the TDS program and has determined that in order to promote a large-scale roll-out, technical support is required to operationalize the concept, evaluate and modify training manuals, and develop and enhance tools.

  • Translate and modify pertinent English resources to provide high-quality reading materials in Dari and Pashto for teachers, headteachers, and teacher educators.
  • Encourage cooperation between global technical service providers and teacher educators to enhance their capabilities and jointly develop and execute efficient training initiatives for educators and head teachers.
  • Assist the UNICEF Afghanistan Education team and the de facto Teacher Education and Professional Development Directorate (TE-PDD) of the Ministry of Education (MOE) with the implementation of the school-based teacher training and support program by providing technical support.
  • Improve the quality of the currently available training materials by carefully proofreading and editing for precision and clarity, adding top-notch drawings, and utilizing best practices from related settings to increase learner engagement.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must have the following:

  • A master’s degree or above from an advanced university program in education, teacher preparation, early childhood development, social studies, language, or allied subjects.
  • A minimum of 10–12 years of experience working for government agencies and INGOs to implement educational interventions, such as curriculum creation, training workshops, and training materials.
  • Knowledge of translating educational materials from English into Pashto and Dari, or the other way around.
  • In creating and improving teacher training resources.
  • It will help if you are familiar with UNICEF’s program and implementation strategy.
  • It is necessary to have excellent writing abilities in Pashto, Dari, or English.
  • It is necessary to speak Pashto, Farsi/Dari, and English fluently.

About Planning Specialist Vacancy:

The Planning Specialist works with the sectoral program chiefs and the external relations/communication officer to coordinate the development, planning, and design of the national program, all under the direction of the Chief Planning, Monitoring, and Data (PMD). The Planning Specialist bears responsibility for achieving significant outcomes in the areas of knowledge management, rights and results-based management, and program management report production.
