The Chief of the UNSSC Hub for UN Transformation, who reports to the Deputy Director, Learning and Knowledge Services, oversees the first start-up team in Spain and focuses on establishing the new programmatic team and setting up the groundwork for future teams to join.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Create and organize a pertinent catalog of programmatic offerings that the Hub can deliver on its own or in cooperation with internal and external partners.
  • Assist in developing and implementing plans for outreach and internal and external communications that are created in coordination with the UNSSC communications unit at headquarters and adhere to the UNSSC corporate communication strategy.
  • Assume a proactive role in forging new alliances and enhancing current ones.
  • Carry out initiatives and organize gatherings that establish connections with current networks, organizations, universities, think tanks, and civil society groups.
  • Establish and preserve positive working relationships with top management from the UNSSC Directorate and the Integrated Business Center across all programmatic pillars.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A master’s degree or its equivalent from an advanced university program in adult education, business or public administration, human resources management, organizational development, leadership, and management, or other relevant social sciences and fields.
  • In place of the advanced university degree, a first level degree with a suitable set of academic credentials and work experience may be taken into consideration.
  • 10 years or more of steadily increasing professional experience in learning management, organizational development, leadership development, or a similar discipline.
  • Five years of relevant experience, preferably inside the UN system.
  • Proficiency in the planning, creation, and implementation of intricate educational and training programs within an interagency context and via collaborative efforts is necessary.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business development, resource mobilization, finance and human resource management is necessary.
  • Working familiarity with UN policies, guidelines, and protocols is preferred. Experience serving in several UN system entities and/or duty posts is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the language. It is advantageous to know other official UN languages.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and networking abilities, including the capacity to build and preserve partnerships and connections based on trust with influential figures from the public sector, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, academia, and other sources.
