Application Process

Atlas Corps accepts applications on a rolling basis and year-round, but they also encourage the applicants to apply by deadlines for special initiatives on the apply.atlascorps.org link. The application is a multi-step process.

  1. Application and Selection Board Review

Applicants should first register for an account and save their login information through their online application system to return to the application anytime.

The application comprises a short eligibility test to identify if applicants meet the basic requirements of programs. Once applicants pass that test, they will be required to provide information on their travel, passport, visa history, employment history, language skills, professional skills, and social issues. They will need to complete a brief biography and a short essay question. Please prepare these additional attachments for the Fellowship application:

  • An official transcript or diplomafrom previous universities
  • Two Recommendations letters from those who know the applicant in a professional capacity. Applicants should send their requests directly through the application system to the referees.

Note: Applicants should submit the online application before uploading their transcript and diploma and before the recommenders complete their forms.

  1. Selection Board Interview by Invitation

Atlas Corps invites only the top applicants who can match Host Organization placements for an interview. Please note that the interview with the Atlas Corps Selection Board is via Skype.

  1. Semi-Finalist Status

Applicants passing the interview will go to a Semi-Finalist stage for the Atlas Corps Fellowship. The potential Host Organizations will review the Semi-Finalists for the Fellowship for placements based on their interests and skillset and the Organization’s needs.

  1. Host Organization Review and Interview

Atlas Corps searches for Semi-Finalists for the top applicants that are the best fit for those positions posted by potential Host Organizations on the Atlas Corps website. Atlas Corps then forward Semi-Finalists’ applications to potential Host Organizations for review.

Potential Host Organizations will invite top Semi-Finalists for a Skype video interview with them, moving on to the Finalist stage. The Organization may ask the candidates for additional information from the Finalists, like sample assignments.

  1. Selection for the Fellowship

The Organizations will share their final recommendations with Atlas Corps and mention them to notify the selected applicants. After selection, Atlas Corps will support Fellows in making the required logistical arrangements to prepare for the Fellowship.

Atlas Corps will support Fellows, the finalists for the online component of the Blended Fellowship, and the Remote Fellowship in reaching the technological capacity necessary to complete Host Organization requirements.

For the U.S.-based component of the Blended Fellowship, Atlas Corps will support the selected fellows in applying for a J-1 visa in their respective countries.
