The Global Call was introduced by the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) Italy in 2020, and it has since become the organization’s premier yearly event for identifying and honoring businesses that have creatively addressed global issues.

The event began in Rome, Italy, and has now spread to three continents: Beijing, Shanghai, and Bonn. With over 2000 applications from 108 countries over the years, worldwide Call has fostered a vibrant worldwide network of innovators dedicated to advancing positive change via technology and cooperation.

The Global Call 2024, with the theme “FOODTECH Innovation and ISID: Nourishing the Future,” will be held by UNIDO ITPO Korea in 2024. The Call aims to discover firms with new solutions addressing major issues in the global food system, such as hunger and unequal distribution. This is because UNIDO’s priorities are linked with the foodtech industry, and the challenges facing the global food system are serious.

UNIDO ITPO Korea sees Global Call 2024 as a ground-breaking chance to dramatically solve societal difficulties along the entire food industry value chain, working in partnership with the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion (ITP) Network and other relevant UNIDO divisions.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Businesses of any size or country that have creative foodtech technology solutions are welcome to apply to the Call within each category.
• They especially seek applications from female researchers and women-owned businesses.
