Opportunity Description

The Global Policy Fellow will join Search’s Global Policy and Outreach team for a one-year junior policy research fellowship. In this position, the Global Policy Fellow will conduct research, analysis, and writing to promote peacebuilding and conflict transformation as effective tools for policymakers to deal with conflict. The Global Policy Fellow will develop and carry out research in the team’s areas of interest, which include but are not limited to priority conflict geographies in Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Myanmar, Nigeria, and the Sahel. The Global Policy Fellow will be responsible for writing a variety of policy research products, including but not limited to policy research papers, briefs, and op-eds, and will be held accountable for delivering high-quality results on time.  The Global Policy Fellow will work closely with Search’s Global Policy and Outreach, Institutional Learning, Regional, and Country teams.

This position is only open to candidates who expect to begin their undergraduate studies between December 2022 and June 2023. Successful candidates must be excellent writers who can work in a fast-paced office environment. Candidates who are passionate about evidence-based advocacy and policy writing are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with operational peacebuilding and conflict transformation organizations.
  • Proven ability to write and edit in English.
  • Demonstrable experience conducting independent research and writing analyses.
  • English proficiency at the native speaker level.
  • Very well-organized, with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and manage competing deadlines.
  • Graduated from undergrad between December 2023 and June 2024.
