Opportunity Description

The Prince Claus Fund/Goethe-Institute Cultural and Artistic Responses to Environmental Change Program 2023 is now accepting applications. Cultural and artistic responses to environmental change is a year-long multidisciplinary program aiming to speed up active community-based cultural practices at the confluence of arts and the environment, launch a worldwide network of creatives, and cultivate leadership.

Through this initiative, they are creating a platform for critical, creative practices, connecting active practitioners worldwide, stimulating cross-disciplinary communication, and amplifying new views on environmental change.

About Program

The mentorship pairs 12 mid-career artists and cultural practitioners (8-15 years of relevant professional experience) with four mentors who work across disciplines and environmental challenges. This program (developed with the requirements of the selected participants in mind) includes various sorts of engagement, such as workshops, guest speakers, and peer-to-peer sessions to stimulate dialogue and cooperation within the cohort and to assist each artist in their specific practice. The majority of the activities are conducted online because the participants are spread around the country; however, they do meet in person twice a year for the two Lab Weeks (week-long mentoring intensives). In addition, they will collaborate on a group effort in the form of a magazine.
