Opportunity Description

Are you an expert or scholar interested in conducting advanced research in Taiwan? Do you focus on topics related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, mainland China, the Asia Pacific, or Sinology? The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Republic of China (Taiwan), offers the Taiwan Fellowship to support scholars worldwide in their academic pursuits.

Since its inception, the Fellowship has supported over 1,400 scholars from 93 countries, allowing them to explore their research topics deeply. This program aligns with the APEC Scholarship Initiative, providing 12 Chinese Taipei APEC Fellowship openings annually for scholars from developing APEC economies.

The Taiwan Fellowship provides substantial financial assistance, including monthly grants, travel subsidies, and accident insurance, ensuring that scholars can focus entirely on their research. The program also facilitates connections with Taiwanese academic institutions, promoting collaborative research and knowledge exchange.
