The study of health system studies, health economics and funding, health policy, and health service management are all important. A quick examination of various areas of health in many low- and middle-income nations reveals a need for better health policy, more efficient organization and management at all health systems levels, and long-term financing.

Reforms are urgently required at both the policy and delivery levels to make health services available to those most need them.
