Opportunity Description
Applications are open for King Bhumibol World Soil Day Award. The King Bhumibol World Soil Day Award (WSDA) was approved by the 6th GSP Plenary Assembly as a means of rewarding people and/or organizations that have worked hard to plan enjoyable events within the context of the World Soil Day campaign the year before.
The World Summit Development Association’s mission is to inspire WSD event planners at all levels to lead exceptional and demanding events globally.
The Kingdom of Thailand, the nation that spearheaded the creation of the now-famous World Soil Day, is sponsoring the award. In December 2013, the UN General Assembly formally declared December 5th to be World Soil Day in honor of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, whose lifetime efforts have improved millions of people’s lives through sustainable soil management.
