Apply to the Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) to pursue your PhD on a fully funded scholarship in Singapore. International students who have excelled academically in their undergraduate or graduate studies in the past are eligible to receive the SINGA award. Additionally, candidates must strongly desire to research at a Singaporean university to earn a Ph.D. (doctorate) or EngD in science or engineering. In addition, they will further their research careers and create international connections.
International students at SINGA form a vibrant and culturally varied research community. In cutting-edge workspaces, participants will collaborate with eminent international scholars in a multicultural setting.
The SINGA is a joint initiative funded by the A*STAR (Agency for Science Technology and Research) in collaboration with the NTU-Nanyang Technological University), the Singapore University of Technology and Design-SUTD, and the National University of Singapore-NUS.

SINGA Benefits and Coverage
Singapore International Graduate Award covers the following items during the full period (4 Years) of Ph.D. studies through research:
- Full tuition fees
- After passing the Qualifying Examination, S$ 2,700 monthly allowance will increase to S$3,200.
- S$ 1,500 for one-time airfare
- S$ 1,000 for a one-time settling allowance

Note: Total monthly living expenses in Singapore will be between S$ 1,400- 2,000.

Who is Qualified for SINGA?
Applicants who meet the following requirements can apply for the 2025 Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA):
- All international graduates with a research passion and outstanding academic result
- English skills (Good spoken and written)
- Good academic referees’ report
- Other requirements (may be included by the organizer “if required”)
Application Required Documents
All candidates should prepare the following required documents in advance for their application package:
- – Valid passport
- – Passport-size photo (.jpeg, .png format)
- – Academic transcripts and reports in English
- – Bachelor’s and master’s degree transcripts and diplomas or certificates, or a letter of certification from the university if the degree certificate/scroll has not yet been conferred
- – Two recommendation reports (to be completed and submitted online by referees)
Applicants applying to NUS supervisors or projects must include their GRE scores in their SINGA application form.
Notes:
- Do not mail hard copies to the SINGA Office. All necessary documents must be submitted online.
- For all other applicants, the institution may request the submission of satisfactory GRE scores as part of the university admission criteria.
- Submitting IELTS, TOEFL, SAT I & II, or GATE results is optional at the time of application, but the university may request these scores later for admission.
