The IEHS Award 2023 aims to help graduate students with their dissertations on American immigration, relocation, or ethnic history.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should fulfill the following criteria to be eligible for this Award:

• Be a candidate in the process of researching and writing their dissertations;
• Be a Ph.D. candidate who will have completed qualifying exams by 2022;
• Must not be students completing and defending their desperation in 2023;
• Their dissertations must be on American immigration, migration, or ethnic history.

Required Documents 

Applicants must provide the following required documents:

• A descriptive proposal in English with 1500-words discussing the significance of the work, sources, the methodology and collections;
• A proposed budget;
• A current and brief curriculum vitae (CV);
• A supporting letter from major advisor.
