Financial Assistance and Benefits

Fellows will benefit from the following financial assistance by joining the ICGEB Arturo Falaschi Ph.D. Fellowships 2024:

• A monthly stipend is as follows:

1. Trieste, Italy: Euro 1,300
2. New Delhi, India: US$ 1,020
3. Cape Town, South Africa: ZAR 14,000

• Travel expenses for the participant’s travel costs from their country of residence to the ICGEB lab at the start and end of the fellowship.
• Reimbursement for medical expenses throughout the fellowship program
• University tuition fees for the duration of the Ph.D. registration period
• Application fees and renewal cost of visas and permits of stay
• The Group Leader or Personal Independence (PI) support for attending meetings and courses.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the ICGEB Arturo Falaschi Ph.D. Fellowships 2024, applicants should meet the below criteria:

• Applicants should be nationals of an ICGEB Member State country. ICGEB Host Country nationals from South Africa and India cannot apply for ICGEB Fellowships in their home nations.
• ICGEB Trieste candidates should provide a Bachelor of Science BSc (Honors) degree, whereas a Master of Science (MSc) degree is necessary for ICGEB Cape Town and New Delhi applicants.
• Candidates must possess a solid command of the English language, as evidenced by a competence certificate (TOEFL, Cambridge Certificate, or equivalent). English proof is not necessary if previous academic education was in English.
• Candidates applying for the ICGEB Trieste, Italy fellowship must be under 32 years old at the time of application, while there are no age restrictions for applications for the ICGEB in New Delhi and Cape Town.

• ICGEB Group Leader’s Written Statement
• Valid identification documents like passport or identity card with at least one year of validaity
• English Diploma (TOEFL, Cambridge, or similar); this document is not required in Trieste when academic education was in English.
