About the University of Eldoret (UoE):
The University of Eldoret, located on the Eldoret-Ziwa Road in Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu County, is one of Kenya’s 22 public universities. Established in 1946 as a Large-scale farmers’ training center by white settlers, it transitioned to a teachers’ training college in 1984, known as Moi Teachers’ Training College, offering Diploma Science Teachers Training. Due to a double intake crisis, Moi University took over the college as a campus in 1990, renaming it Chepkoilel Campus, focusing on Natural, Basic, and Applied Science programs.
In August 2010, President Mwai Kibaki upgraded the campus to Chepkoilel University College through Legal Notice as a Constituent College of Moi University. Later, in March 2013, the institution was renamed the University of Eldoret after receiving a charter from the president.
