Applications are now open for the Call for Code Global Challenge 2024. The Call for Code Global Challenge invites participants to address equitable access issues through generative AI solutions. By leveraging IBM WatsonX training, participants can develop innovative solutions while enhancing their AI skills. The organizer will invite students, developers, and problem-solvers worldwide to use IBM WatsonX to create innovative AI solutions tackling equitable access challenges.

Access to essential needs like clean water, safe housing, education, and fair representation in government is unevenly distributed, particularly affecting women and marginalized communities. Climate change worsens these disparities by straining resources and inadequately protecting vulnerable groups. Generative AI offers promising solutions to reduce inequality and enhance lives.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants should use one or more IBM Cloud services or IBM systems. 
• Team applications are allowed, and each team should consist of a maximum of five people;
• The team members age should be at least 18 years at the time of application;
• A person must be only a member of one team;
• Team members participating in the university challenge must be enrolled in a prestigious university;
• Team members should have accepted all participation roles at the time of entry;

Judging and Selection Criteria

The judges will consider these criteria against the applications:

• Effectiveness and Efficiency (5 points)
• Design and Usability (5 points)
• Creativity and Innovation (5 points)
