Opportunity Description

Are you ready to lead the way in developing novel AI solutions to address the effects of climate change on vulnerable communities? Join the “AI for Climate Resilience in Rural Areas” Innovation Challenge, a Moonshots for Development initiative supported by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the CGIAR Accelerate for Impact Platform, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the IDB Lab, the World Food Programme Innovation Accelerator, and the World Bank Technology & Innovation Lab.

Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our day, especially for rural people in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and elsewhere. These regions, which are inextricably linked to agriculture and environment, are disproportionately sensitive to the unpredictability of climate, such as extreme weather events, water scarcity, and food production disruptions, and confront rising challenges to their resilience and livelihoods. AI’s resiliency potential serves as a beacon. Consider artificial intelligence reading climatic trends, helping communities to anticipate hazards, and maximizing resource utilization through precision agriculture.
