Organization Description

The World Press Institute (WPI) is a non-profit educational institution situated in Minneapolis–Saint Paul, Minnesota that provides paid fellowships to worldwide journalists. It is supported by a diverse group of foundations, local and national media outlets, major corporations, and people from around the world. The institute was established in 1961, and the fellowship program began the following year. More than 550 international journalists have visited the United States thanks to the WPI. The program is currently hosted by the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
