Uppsala University is a Swedish public research university located in Uppsala. It is the oldest university in Sweden and the Nordic countries, having been founded in 1477. “Gratiae veritas naturae” is the university motto.
The institution gained prominence during the development of Sweden as a great power at the end of the 16th century, and was later provided financial stability by King Gustavus Adolphus in the early 17th century with a large donation. Read more
