Organization Description
The American Literary Translators Association is a non-profit arts membership organization that offers resources, community, and professional affiliation to its members, who include individual translators, academic institutions, presses, and others involved in literary translation. The annual ALTA conference, held in a different location each year, is the largest and only gathering of literary translators in the United States. It brings together nearly 500 translators, writers, and editors for a three-day intimate and intense conversation through panels, workshops, roundtables, and bilingual readings on and off-site. The ALTA conference is centered on the production of high-quality art.
