Organization Description

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is Norway’s largest public research university, headquartered in Trondheim with regional campuses in Gjøvik and Ålesund. Founded in 1996 from a merger of the University of Trondheim and other institutions, its roots trace back to 1760. NTNU has around 9,000 employees and 42,000 students as of November 2022.

NTNU is the national leader in engineering and technology education and research, inheriting this role from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH), established in 1910. In addition to engineering and natural sciences, NTNU offers programs in medicine, psychology, social sciences, arts, teacher education, architecture, and fine art. Its faculty includes Nobel laureates Edvard Moser, May-Britt Moser, and John O’Keefe.
