Organization Description

Founded in 1965, the Immigration and Ethnic History Society (IEHS) was the Immigration History Group that changed its name to the Immigration History Society in 1972. Subsequently, the Society chartered as a non-profit organization in Minnesota, U.S.
The Society’s primary aim is to endorse the study of immigration history to the United States and Canada worldwide. This study also includes studies of the background of emigration in the countries of origin; study promotion of ethnic groups in the United States, including native Americans, regional groups, and forced immigrants.
