Opportunity Description

The TransformU Academic Network has launched a Global Student Boydright Challenge on behalf of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). To involve young voices in online advocacy for women’s rights, the Challenge is launched as part of the Sixteen Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. UNFPA’s #bodyright campaign aims to protect women and girls from abuse and violence so they may freely express themselves online and use these tools.

The Division of Communications & Strategic Partnerships of UNFPA is launching a social media challenge for university students worldwide, including but not limited to individual students, youth associations, student groups & networks, and youth advocacy groups, to develop innovative and captivating content on the theme of bodyright. The challenge’s goal is to raise awareness of the problems associated with online abuse of women and girls. The winner will be eligible to receive a trip to New York City with all expenses covered to attend a global advocacy event at the UN Secretariat.

It is easy to produce original artistic and educational content about the risks of internet violence. You may enter to win a trip to New York City by posting it to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter with the hashtags #bodyrightchallenge and UNFPA!
