Opportunity Description

Are you a woman from a developing or emerging economy passionate about science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)? Are you aiming to advance your education at a leading university abroad and significantly impact your field? If so, the Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellowships might be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

Launched in 2004, the Faculty for the Future program offers fellowships to women from developing and emerging countries to pursue PhD or post-doctoral research in STEM fields. The program’s primary aim is to foster gender equality in STEM by supporting women in overcoming the barriers they face when enrolling in these disciplines. Through this fellowship, the Schlumberger Foundation contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 4 of the United Nations, promoting equitable quality education for all.

The program has awarded fellowships to 915 women from 93 countries, supporting them in conducting research at leading universities and research institutes outside their home countries. The fellowship grants, which cover eligible expenses up to USD 50,000 per year for PhD studies and up to USD 40,000 per year for post-doctoral research, are designed to support these women in their academic journeys and help them contribute to developing their local communities and nations.
