Opportunity Description

The Adam Smith Fellowship is a Mercatus Center and Liberty Fund, Inc. co-sponsored program. Graduate students pursuing PhD programs at any university and in any discipline, including but not limited to economics, philosophy, political science, and sociology, are eligible for Adam Smith Fellowships.

The goal of these fellowships is to introduce students to, and encourage them to critically engage with, key thinkers in political economy who they might not have encountered otherwise during their graduate studies. As a result, Adam Smith Fellows attend workshops and seminars on the Austrian, Virginia, and Bloomington schools of political economy three weekends per academic year and one week per summer. Fellows will be part of a network of Mercatus students, alumni, and scholars conducting and participating in cutting-edge research in contemporary political economy.
