Background:

India has been instrumental in providing educational opportunities for Afghan students over the years. Through the ICCR Scholarship program, the country has awarded approximately 1000 scholarships each year to Afghan students starting in 2005. Unfortunately, the program was suspended after August 2021, which prevented students from pursuing their studies in India. Nonetheless, the Indian government offered scholarships to some students who was already in India, allowing them to continue their studies there.
