Opportunity Description
Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Online Campus offers a free Glocal Justice and Peacebuilding course. This course aims to provide an overview of the relationship between social justice and conflicts at both the local and global levels and peacebuilding activities. The program intends to transform such conflicts in both the South and North.
It recognises structural violence, or social and economic inequalities and injustices, as a root cause of global and local (Glocal) conflicts, and it also investigates strategies for nations and their citizens to live together with justice and sympathy to build a culture of peace through personal and social action. Using case studies from various locations of the Global South, four key themes or sectors will be critically examined: development and globalization paradigms, rural poor, women, and indigenous peoples.
