Opportunity Description

The Land Islands Peace Institute has released a new request for the Land Peace Fellowship. The Institute is accepting applications for the Land Peace Fellowship 2023 from international law, political science, and peace research scholars.

Applications about sustainability challenges in territorial autonomies, including autonomous islands, will be given preference for 2023. As we agreed, the Peace Fellowship is a study visit to the Land Islands in the fall of 2023 that will last around two months.

In 1992, the Land Islands Peace Institute was established. It is a private foundation located in Mariehamn, Sweden. At the Institute, they broadly focus on themes of peace and conflict while also conducting research from the perspective of the unique position that “land” holds under international law. The main focus areas of the Land Islands Peace Institute’s activities are issues relating to minorities, autonomy, and regional security.
