Opportunity Description
Based on Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website news release, the Government of Canada has planned to find and attract the skills-required workers in critical sectors during 2023-25. This plan is to help businesses to fulfil critical labour market shortages causing uncertainty for Canadian workers and businesses.
According to Sean Fraser, Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, the Government welcomed over 405,000 newcomers last year and set targets in the new plan of 465,000 permanent residents in 2023, in 2024 about 485,000, and 500,000 in 2025. This plan also focused on attracting newcomers to different areas, including small towns and rural communities. Also, the Government will attract workers in critical sectors, including health care, manufacturing, technology, and skilled trades.
