Opportunity Description

Applications are now open for the AstraZeneca Young Health Global Grants Program. Under this program (StepUP), AstraZeneca aims to support small, youth-focused non-for-profit firms to implement innovative climate and health interventions in under-resourced societies worldwide. Therefore, potential applicants are invited to submit their proposals before the closing date.

Following are the objectives of the program:
  • To find out what works regarding youth health;
  • Promote awareness about the health and wellbeing initiatives for youth;

And to create:

  • Case studies and other evidence of promising methods;
  • Opportunities for future partnership and investment;

Grants

  • An amount of up to USD 10,000 will be awarded to twenty winning projects.

The Program Looks to:

Projects that:

  • Support youths in reduction of their exposure to air pollution except for Tobacco cessation;
  • Promotion of recycling movements using the approaches that conclude youth’s health improvement;
  • Propose innovative solutions to plant and grow sources of nutritious food;
  • Inspire people regarding the use of exercise as an eco-friendly technique of transportation;

The up-mentioned points are included but not limited to. You are encouraged to propose more useful solutions;

Eligibility Criteria

  • Registered charitable firms with an outstanding implementing impactful interventions in the health and environment improvements which positively resulted in the young people’s lives;
  • The applicant must be able to provide necessary documents that is prepared in English to explore more about the financial situations and charitable status of the organization;
  • Organizations from under-resourced societies from around the world are eligible to apply;
  • Organizations based in low-or lower-income countries are welcomed to apply;
  • Those organizations that have won the previous grants are eligible to apply but for a different project;
  • AstraZeneca will not be able to fund all the projects but will select those that are likely to meet the criteria;
  • You need to attach the necessary supporting documents as well to your application and must be prepared in English;
  • You can use online transfer means if required for the preparation of your application and documentation;
  • Please take in mind that your application will not be assessed according to your English proficiency;

Selection Procedure

  • If your solution addresses the nutrition;
  • Is your proposed project innovative which is likely to deliver something different from the present approaches;
  • Is it a youth-led project;
  • Have you involved the youth as potential change advocates in their societies;
  • The ability of organization regarding service deliveries for such a grant size;
  • Having operation in a low-or lower-income country;
