Organization Description

WIPO is a self-funding United Nations specialized agency with 192 member nations and around 250 non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations with official observer status at WIPO sessions.
WIPO has been assisting governments, industry, and society in realizing the benefits of intellectual property since 1967. WIPO provides a policy forum for developing balanced international intellectual property regulations for a changing world; global services to safeguard intellectual property across borders and settle disputes; and technical infrastructure to connect IP systems and share information; cooperation and capacity-building programs to enable all countries to utilize intellectual property for economic, social, and cultural development; and a global reference source for intellectual property information.
