Organization Description
We Are Family Foundation (WAFF) is a nonprofit organization based in New York City. It was established after the 9/11 attacks by musician Nile Rodgers and Nancy Hunt. WAFF empowers youth leaders to drive positive change through programs like Three Dot Dash, which supports projects addressing basic human needs; the Youth To The Front Fund, which aids activists and youth-led organizations fighting systemic racism; and Youth To The Table, which brings youth delegations to global events like the UN General Assembly and World Economic Forum.
WAFF has partnered with buildOn to fund 16 elementary schools in countries like Mali, Malawi, Nepal, and Nicaragua. Its programs have engaged young leaders from over 70 countries.
In January 2024, Nile Rodgers received the World Economic Forum’s Crystal Award for promoting peace, equality, and inclusivity through music and youth advocacy. In September 2024, WAFF also formalized a global partnership with UNESCO to empower youth and combat discrimination worldwide.
