Organization Description
The University of Gloucestershire is a public university with five campuses located in Cheltenham and Gloucester, England. It offers a wide range of academic programs, with nearly 100 undergraduate and 57 postgraduate taught courses delivered across eight schools. The university also collaborates with local colleges through a long-term agreement to expand access to higher education.
With roots tracing back to 1834, the University of Gloucestershire has evolved through the merger of several educational institutions. Its origin lies in the Cheltenham and Gloucester Mechanics’ Institutes and the Cheltenham Training College, founded by the Anglican Church. Over the years, various colleges combined, culminating in the formation of Cheltenham & Gloucester College of Higher Education, which gained university status in 2001.
