Organization Description

The University of Tokyo is a public research university in the Tokyo neighborhood of Bunky. The institution was founded in 1877 and is currently designated by the Japanese government as a Top Type university of the Top Global University Project. UTokyo comprises eight faculties and 15 graduate schools, with over 30,000 students, 4,200 of whom are international students. Privately supported international students, who account for more than 80% of all students, have climbed 1.75 times in the ten years from 2010, and the institution is focusing on helping international students. It has five campuses, which are located in Hong, Komaba, Kashiwa, Shirokane, and Nakano. It is regarded as Japan’s most selective and prestigious institution. Read more
