Organization Description

COAL, or the Coalition for Art and Sustainable Development, was created in 2008 by a group of French professionals working in the domains of contemporary art, sustainable development, and research, with the goal of promoting the establishment of an ecological culture. COAL mobilizes artists and cultural actors on societal and environmental issues in a multidisciplinary and innovative way, in collaboration with institutions, NGOs, scientists, and businesses, and supports the important role of creation and culture in raising awareness and implementing concrete solutions. COAL organizes and curates contemporary art exhibitions and cultural events (UNESCO, La Villette, la Gaîté lyrique, FIAC) that address concerns of sustainable development. Visit the official website
